Keith Haney Racing and John Woods Performance Auto of Oklahoma City are looking to conquer new territory in 2012.

Haney, a past champion in the NHRA Top Sportsman category, has formed a two-car doorslammer operation with Woods that will run the entire 10-race ADRL season, which kicks off March 30 at Royal Purple Raceway outside Houston.

The first car will be a Pro Nitrous entry owned and driven by Haney, with the second a Pro Mod car, owned by Woods and driven by Monroe Guest.

"We’ve put together a great team and have the support of many dedicated people and sponsors," Haney said. "I’m excited to have my best friend as a teammate and we’re both fortunate to do what we love to do."

Guest, a multiple-time winner in the NHRA's Top Alcohol Dragster class, said he can't wait to shoot it out in a new series.

"We're glad to go ADRL racing," Guest said. "It’s a great series and they always put on incredible events. I’m happy to be on the same team as Keith and John and being a part of the ADRL makes it that much better.

"I’m excited to be back in the saddle. Hopefully we can go out, win some races, have some fun and give the fans and our sponsors a great show too."

Both drivers will be piloting already-completed 2012 Camaros built by Wally Stroupe Race Cars. The team will be managed by longtime Haney ally, John Collins.

"My goal this first year will be to get each car a win in either series," said Collins, a former Top Fuel driver. "We have key people in place to make that happen. I’ve been with Keith for eight years now and the guy just keeps getting better and better every pass. Keith is a great driver with lots of potential and Monroe’s record speaks for itself. I’m looking forward to working with both men this year."

Terry Murphy and Justin Shearer, two of the most respected crew chiefs in Pro Mod racing, will tune Haney's and Guest's 2012 Camaro.

Woods company, Performance Auto (www.iperfomanceauto.com), will be displayed on both cars alongside Keith Haney Racing signage.

"We think we have the parts and people it takes to make a splash in the ADRL right away," Haney said. "The new season can't get started soon enough for us."

Fans can follow the team's progress during the season at either Facebook at Keith-Haney-Racing or online at www.KeithHaneyRacing.com or .www.MonroeGuestMotorsports.com

June 10, 2011

We have put the racing program on hold until further notice.  We are waiting on the investigation results to determine what is the best way to proceed.

June 6, 2011

We had a bad day at Englishtown.  We smoked the tires the first two attempts at qualifying.  We were not qualified going into the final qualifying session.  We shook the tires and I peddled it and ran a 5.32.  We were now qualified 5th going into the first round of eliminations. There were several delays but we finally got to make our pass at around 7:00pm, that's when things went horribly wrong. I put a link to watch the crash. We both walked away sore but alive.  We are getting a back up car ready for Tulsa this next weekend.  Going to try and win at my home track.  Hope to see you out there.

May 2, 2011

We didn't win Houston but had a very fast and consistent car.  We qualified #1 for the third time in a row with a 5.22 @ 277 MPH.  We were fastest every round of qualifying as well.  The first round of Eliminations we dropped a hole and shook the tires.  The car recovered but he caught us at the stripe.  The crew worked very hard and we feel we have a great car to continue to be a threat at every race.  Thanks again to TIGERFLOW and Lucas Oil for their continued support.  We will see you at the next race.

April 18, 2011

We won Charlotte!!  Back to Back wins!!!!  We qualified #1 and carried the momentum to each round.  We qualified with a 5.27 @ 268.  The car was consistent and smooth.  We ran first round of elimination Saturday night and the next three Sunday.  We saved our best run for the final round.  We ran 5.27@275. It was great to win Charlotte again and see the 4-wide nationals.  Our next race is Houston National April 29-May 1st.  By the way, look at how high Marvin can jump! Hope to see you there.

March 6, 2011

We won Houston.  We qualified #1 with a 5.25 @ 275.  We had a bye run in the first round. We ran a 5.26 @ 279 in the second round to earn a place in the finals.  Our opponent broke for the final round so we decided to go for a record run and smoked the tires.  Oh well, we won the opening event in Division 4.  We are getting ready for Charlotte, NC.  We won the event last year so we are excited to go back and try to repeat.  See you at the track.

December 1, 2010

We have posted the 2011 schedule. We finished  #6 in the world for 2010.  We are now inventorying parts and getting ready for 2011 race season.  We will start out in Houston, our home division, this year. We are excited to have Lucas Oil on board again this year.  They are a great company with a great product.  The guys are excited and so am I.  Ready to try and win the National Championship.  See all of you at the track!
